Nerua Guggenheim Bilbao invites Mitsuharu Tsumura and Ana Ros for the second edition of ‘Ongietorri’

Nerua Guggenheim Bilbao continues to invite to Bizkaia leading figures of the culinary world with the second edition of ‘Ongietorri, four hands dinners’, which began last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum.

After hosting The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Nerua will once again bring to Bilbao two of the most prestigious representatives of the culinary world. This event aims to give to the local guests a chance to enjoy the cuisine of the internationally acclaimed chefs and at the same time create new ambassadors of the territory.

On Tuesday 25th September will with Josean Alija cook Mitsuharu ‘Micha’ Tsumura, chef from Maido, first restaurant in Latinamerica and seventh in the world, according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurant list. Tsumura will bring to Nerua the Nikkei cuisine which is the hallmark of his style. “The ingredients of both cultures complement each other as if they were born to be together, an honest kitchen with unique textures and flavors”, states a spokesperson from Maido.

On Wednesday 21st November will Nerua host the Slovenian chef Ana Roš, the best female chef in the world in 2017 according to The World’s 50 Best. Roš is one of the most prestigious female chefs in the international arena owing to the success of her restaurant Hiša Franko (48th of the world according to the same ranking). In Bilbao she will present traditional Slovenian products cooked with her own modern twist.

“2018 is a very intense year in Bilbao. The celebration of the 50 Best ceremony in June gave us the opportunity to be the capital of the gastronomic world for a few days and we want to continue on that path by inviting two very special chefs that will bring their cuisine to Bilbao for the enjoyment of culinary enthusiasts. In 2019 we will continue putting  Bilbao on the international gastronomic map “, says Josean Alija.

The obligatory bookings for the events open on September 18th, at 12.00 at www.neruaguggenheimbilbao.com.
