Neolokal in Istanbul is a project by the chef Maksut Askar and his business partner Erim Leblebicioglu. Located close to the famous Galata tower and surrounded by museums and financial institutions, it doesn’t want to be a “fancy” place cooking beautiful but hermetic dishes. Maksut is looking for inspiration in Anatolian traditions, into pantry and recipe book of his mother and grandmother, trying to revive the traditional flavours of Anatolia but in a new, contemporary outfit. One of the most interesting restaurants in Istanbul, where dishes follow the ways of the heart, with stunning views of the Istanbul skyline. Specially magical at night.
