This too is Milan/Milano. Amazing food in the places run by highly passionate, very talented wonderful people. I visited the capital of Lombardia again less than three weeks ago. I managed to visit three wonderful restaurants: Ristorante Tokuyoshi , Bu:r and D’O. I chatted with the great Yoji Tokuyoshi , Eugenio Jacques Christiaan Boer and Davide Oldani . Three great chefs and beautiful people who care for their guests and work hard on their cuisine and hospitality. Coronavirus is a big trouble for all the restaurants in Milano. Now, as part of the red zone, they are allowed to keep restaurants open only at lunchtime. I don’t understand this decision by the Italian government. All of them respect all the rules: they took care that seats are at least 1 m apart from each other and they care for immaculate hygiene and health of all their employees. Why is being open for lunch OK and for dinner not? The dishes are the same, the space is the same, the people are the same, but during the lunchtime guests rarely have time for such type of restaurants. So why can’t they stay open also in the evenings?

Anyway – if you are in Lombardia or any other place in this world where restaurants struggle because of coronavirus, please do support the chefs and their businesses. Go and eat in their places. Because we all want to support good people, but also because in this stressful period we need to award ourselves with something nice and pleasant. We also need a good nutrition to boost our immune system and wines to sanitise our throats, right? Be considerate and take good care of your hygiene (wash your hands regularly, if you sneeze, sneeze into your elbow etc) but don’t stop living! Keep your mood high, stay positive, have fun, love, laugh, eat and drink well. All this will boost your immune system and we all need a strong immune system these days. So do visit the restaurants and enjoy! Lots of love to all the chefs who today need more support than ever!
