On February 27th-28th will Food&Wine professionals in London have a chance to take part in two days full of cooking demonstrations and tastings featuring some of the most famous Italian products.
Le Strade della Mozzarella (Mozzarella Roads) is an International event showcasing Italian PDO Buffalo Mozzarella, but also other key ingredients of the Italian cuisine: tomatoes, dried pasta and extra-virgin olive oil. After its successful debut in Milan on 1st February of this year, the 10th edition of LSDM will arrive to London for the second time, after its 2015 edition.
The event will mark the start of the 2017 international tour with two unique events dedicated to the culinary delights of Italy, with a focus on craftsmen, chefs and pizzaioli from Southern Italy.
L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele is the brand new London branch of the historic pizzeria in the hearth of Naples, home to the traditional Neapolitan pizza since 1870. Overlooking Kensington Gardens, the prestigious Baglioni Hotel – member of The Leading Hotels of the World – is the perfect location to frame the Made in Italy excellences and to welcome guests with the renowned Italian hospitality.
On Monday, 27th February LSDM will host a unique evening at L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele – One night in London, during which the Neapolitan Pizza will be the undisputed protagonist. Four of the best Italian pizzaioli will be there showcasing the most traditional Neapolitan pizza recipes. Marco Condurro, Francesco and Salvatore Salvo, Giuseppe Pignalosa hail from Naples, the capital city of pizza, and its outskirts. The event will give attendants a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse themselves into the charming world of Neapolitan pizza. The evening is by invitation only.
On Tuesday 28th February at Baglioni Hotel in London, LSDM will present a half-day event celebrating Italian cuisine with a focus on the culinary traditions of Southern Italy. Some of Italy’s best Chefs will attend the event and present lectures and food tastings: Roberto Petza from Sardinia, Accursio Craparo from Sicily, Angelo Sabatelli from Apulia, Salvatore La Ragione from Campania. Pasquale Torrente and his son and Gaetano will then close the event introducing their own personal, “Italian style” interpretation of a classic British dish, “fish and chips”. Guests will have the chance to spectate the preparation of the recipe and taste a sample of the dish. The event also involves many important brands of the Made in Italy food&wine industry to showcase their top products, offering tastings, matchings and cooking demos where mozzarella will go along with some of the Italian food and wine best products and brands.
The free event is reserved to people working in the food and wine trades, as well as press and influencers. The main event of LSDM 10th edition will then take place at the Savoy Beach Hotel in Paestum on April 19th -20th. The international tour will continue in New York in June 28th-29th, hosted at the Show Room Pentole Agnelli in Manhattan.
