This piece is admittedly overdue – it dates back to October 2025. I originally shared it on Instagram, but somehow never published it here. My website has been rather neglected in the last year, a consequence of an exceptionally busy work schedule. That said, Planque has long been one of my favourite restaurants in London, and it unquestionably deserves a proper place here. I already fell for it in July 2024, when I posted a short note on Instagram. Some places stay with you, and Planque is one of them.
Planque, London, 21st of October: Tonight I returned to Planque, one of my absolutely favourite restaurants in London, and it was another unforgettable experience. The cooking here, by chef Sebastian Myers and his team, is extraordinarily precise – technically brilliant, full of intense but perfectly equilibrated flavours and stunningly beautiful plating. Looks fancy, but it’s alive, exciting and exceptional.
The menu was a sequence of dishes I would have happily eaten at least twice:

And finally, the Wigmore Ice Cream with Meringue and Bread Caramel – the only dish that escaped the camera.
Planque is passion, focus and precision. Very few carbs, just beautifully composed plates built around protein, vegetables, refined seasonings and some perfectly made, paper-thin pastries.

Planque is also a wine club, which explains its exceptional wine list, easily among the best in London. Add warm, professional service and an atmosphere that feels effortlessly confident, and the result is something genuinely special. I am in love with this place. It reminded me that I need to return more often.
