Campania with its great food and warmhearted passionate people is between my favourite Italian regions. The home of the unbeatable pomodorino del piennolo, the probably best artisan pasta, best pizza in the world, the indulgent mozzarella and many other fantastic ingredients, the richness of cultural heritage and some of the most stunning natural views has touched hearts of many people who visited it. I have visited that region a few times, but this year it was my first visit to the legendary Festa a Vico.

Festa a Vico itself is a total exaggeration (a wonderful one)! It is intense, full, generous and delicious. For me it started with a fantastic lunch composed of 5 starters, 10 dishes and 3 desserts at La Torre del Saracino (Gennaro Esposito’s restaurant) and finished with an incredible car race to the airport. (Only a driver from Campania manages to take you in 25 min through all the curves from Vico Equense to the Naples airport when you are late (normally it takes 45 min) and make you enjoy the ride.)

Between the first lunch and the car race to airport a lot has happened – over 400 chefs were sharing their passion for food by creating delightful dishes (highlights: the charity dinner at Bikini, the young chefs lunch at La Torre del Saracino and the Night of the stars), thousands of visitors were enjoying the flavours and wonderful company and there was lots of fun: in socializing, in the trip to Cetara, in parties and most of all the delicious food.
Big thanks to all the organisers, participating chefs and all the lovely people who made our stay great. Only in Campania …
