The Clove Club

Oh yes, I loved Clove Club from my first visit on – these “guys” cook deliciously, but because of this my expectations were always high. And when expectations are high, disappointments can happen. Obviously not with this restaurant. Isaac, his right hand Tim Spedding and their team never disappoint. Contrary. I expect a lot but they still manage to tickle my emotions making me fall in love with their food again and again. Don’t ask me for my favourite dish of this dinner because the entire meal was a wonderful symphony perfectly balanced between the beautiful fresh saltness of the sea and a creamy sweetness of the countryside with a beautiful finish of fantastic light desserts bursting with energy. The enchanting fil rouge of this journey were strong accents of herbs which were like a beautiful ode to spring. It was a fabulous dinner and you know what? I can’t wait for the next one!

  1. Interesting. My second meal at the Clove Club was definitely a disappointment – so much more so after the first visit. Try visiting when Isaac isn’t there.

  2. Hello Stephen, I was at The Clove Club a few times and two times (also this last time in March) Isaac wasn’t there, Tim was in charge of the kitchen, and yet it was great! Even one single dish didn’t disappoint. I am sorry for your bad experience – we are all human and may have a bad day sometimes. Maybe you have been unlucky to arrive in such a moment?
